On Fixed-point Free Fibrewise Maps of Projective Bundles

چکیده
Let £ be a vector bundle and P(E) its associated projective bundle. Some necessary conditions on the characteristic classes of E for existence of a fibrewise fixed-point free map P(E) -> P(E) are obtained.

Projective Quantum Mechanics
We study the quantisation of complex, finite–dimensional, compact, classical phase spaces C, by explicitly constructing Hilbert–space vector bundles over C. We find that these vector bundles split as the direct sum of two holomorphic vector bundles: the holomorphic tangent bundle T (C), plus a complex line bundle N(C). Quantum states (except the vacuum) appear as tangent vectors to C. The vacuu...

We construct a noncommutative deformation of odd-dimensional spheres that preserves the natural partition of the (2N + 1)-dimensional sphere into (N + 1)many solid tori. This generalizes the case N = 1 referred to as the Heegaard quantum sphere. Our twisted odd-dimensional quantum sphere C∗-algebras are given as multipullback C∗-algebras. We prove that they are isomorphic to the universal C∗-al...
متن کاملFixed Point Theory for Weakly Inward Kakutani Maps: the Projective Limit Approach
New fixed point results are presented for weakly inward Kakutani condensing maps defined on a Fréchet space E. The proofs rely on the notion of an essential map and viewing E as the projective limit of a sequence of Banach spaces.

متن کاملAre two given maps homotopic? An algorithmic viewpoint
This paper presents two algorithms. In their simplest form, the first algorithm decides the existence of a pointed homotopy between given simplicial maps f , g : X → Y and the second computes the group [ΣX, Y ] * of pointed homotopy classes of maps from a suspension; in both cases, the target Y is assumed simply connected and the algorithms run in polynomial time when the dimension of X is fixe...
